This Cancellation & Refund Policy explains how cancellations, rescheduling, and refunds work for Pustak Pitara’s toy rentals, big‑toy event bookings, workshops, and camps.

1. Cancellations for regular toy & book rentals

  • Before dispatch:
    If you cancel a regular toy or book rental before the toys have been prepared and dispatched, we will either refund your payment or offer a credit for a future booking, as confirmed at the time of cancellation.
  • After dispatch / on delivery day:
    If the toys have already been dispatched or are out for delivery, cancellation may not be eligible for a full refund. In such cases, we may offer a partial credit at our discretion.
  • Rescheduling:
    If you wish to reschedule the start date of your rental before dispatch, we will do our best to accommodate the change based on availability.

2. Cancellations for birthday parties & event rentals

  • Up to 5 days before the event 
    Cancellations made within this window are eligible for a full refund or credit for a future event booking.
  • Within 2 days of the event 
    Cancellations in this shorter window may be eligible for a partial refund or credit, after deducting any preparation or blocking costs.
  • Same‑day cancellations / no‑show at venue:
    If a booking is cancelled on the event day itself, or our team reaches the venue and is unable to proceed due to host non‑availability or venue issues, the booking may be treated as non‑refundable.
  • Rescheduling events:
    We will try to reschedule event bookings (subject to dates and inventory availability). Any price changes or additional costs for the new date will be discussed in advance.

3. Cancellations for workshops, camps & DIY sessions

  • Individual child bookings:
    • Cancellations made before a defined cut‑off (e.g., 48 hours before the session/camp start date) may receive a refund or session credit.
    • Cancellations after this cut‑off may not be refundable, as materials and slots are already planned.
  • Group bookings (schools, societies, organizations):
    • Larger program cancellations follow terms similar to event bookings, depending on venue, materials, and staffing commitments.

4. Refund process & timelines

  • Refund method:
    Wherever possible, refunds will be processed via the original payment method (e.g., UPI, bank transfer, Cash). If this is not possible, we will discuss an alternate method.
  • Refund timelines:
    Refunds are typically initiated within 2 working days after a cancellation is confirmed and all necessary details are provided.

5. Non‑refundable situations (examples)

Refunds may generally not be provided in situations such as:

  • Same‑day cancellations for events where our team has already allotted resources or reached the venue.
  • Repeated failed delivery/pickup attempts due to customer non‑availability without prior communication.
  • Intentional misuse or non‑return of toys (handled as per Rental Terms & Conditions).

Each case will be reviewed fairly, and we aim to communicate clearly about any deductions.

6. Changes to this policy

Pustak Pitara may update this Cancellation & Refund Policy from time to time. The most recent version on this page will apply to all new bookings and rentals.
